Single? Hate celebrating Valentine's day? Need something to distract you from this awful day?

Here it is, a list of fourteen things to do on this gross hallmark holiday to distract yourself from how single you are. From eating and drinking to celebrating with your girlfriends, there are so many other things to do than wait around for some chocolate, flowers and some grand gesture.

14. Go shopping

I know, it's basic but hey, retail therapy is the cure for almost anything and a GREAT distraction.

13. Get out of town

What an awesome excuse to go on a mini vacation and spend some time away from home!

12. Celebrate GALentine's day!

Get yourself some good girlfriends and you can do anything. A cozy night in with the girls, or hit the town and forget about this dreadful holiday.

11. Order yourself a pizza and stay home

There is absolutely nothing wrong with staying home and eating an entire pizza yourself, be your own Valentine.

10. Work

If you work in the food & beverage service this holiday is awful, but you are almost bound to be busy. Get in those extra hours and make some money!!

9. Stalk celebrities on Instagram

Live Valentine's day through Thomas Rhett and Lauren Atkins, or Kim and Kayne and just admire their love since you probably don't have a significant other.

8. Cry

Today of all days is a perfect day to get a good cry in. Just let it all out, cry until you don't even have any tears left. Then pick yourself up and figure something else from this list you want to do.

7. Get to swiping

I mean hey, why not hop on Tinder for the day and pretend that there are decent guys out there, or just make fun of the pictures they chose.

6. Cuddle with your pet(s)

You should do this every day, but today is the best day of all, make them your Valentine!

5. TREAT YO SELF!

Go get your nails, hair, whatever done! Get a car wash and buy yourself some chocolate. Today is your day.

4. Have an anti-Valentine's day party

An excuse to have a party? Why not! Have your friends over, eat good food, and spend quality time together!

3. Drink

Wine, beer, vodka, just drink. Whatever and how much ever. It's an easy way to avoid the day.

2. Lay in bed all day

Cozy up and get ready for a long day in bed binge-watching "The Office" on Netflix and turn off your phone. Just relax all day.

1. Ignore the day all together

It's just another day of the week, who cares, carry on and ignore all the happy couples that are being gross all day long.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
