Everyone has their motivators in life to help them accomplish goals. Those motivators may be family, friends, or even nice articles of clothing. Yes, clothing can be a motivator. Let's be real, just because you buy nice clothing doesn't mean you're trying to be an Instagram model. Whoever told you that is seriously disturbed and doesn't know how powerful an outfit can be.
When you look good, you feel good.
Everyone knows that saying and I believed it for everyday clothing. Not so much for gym clothes though. For the longest time, I would only wear old, ragged T-shirts and shorts to the gym because I didn't think my outfit mattered when I was just going to get my clothes soaked with sweat anyway. I'm sure a lot of other people have this mentality too.
Often times, people lack the motivation to go to the gym.
It shouldn't matter what motivates you to go to the gym.
What matters is that you're there in general! Seriously, the first step is just getting to the gym. It's about finding the motivation to go to the gym and then being committed to going. From there, the goals grow and so do you!
Celebrate the small victories!
If buying a new pair of Yeezys for the gym encourages you to be active, you have every right to be excited about them. If treating yourself to a pair of leggings from Gymshark or Alphalete motivates you to crush your goals in the gym, celebrate it! I definitely did. Leggings with pockets...enough said. It sure as hell beats sitting alone at home, stuffing your face with pizza and beer and groveling over others being excited about crushing their goals.
There's nothing wrong with being excited about making healthy lifestyle changes and goals for yourself.
Regardless of what motivates you to be a better you, be proud of yourself for following through with your goals and coming out on top.
If buying nice athletic gear motivates people to put down the pizza and beer and get to the gym to lead a healthier life, then who are you to judge?
Maybe you should find your own motivator as well...
