Ask Dylan #1: "How Do I Get Girls?" My Top 5 Tips For Getting A Girl Or Guy

I had an anonymous question come in to me recently inquiring about how one gets girls. I don't know why this person sees me as an authority figure on this topic, but I'll take it as a compliment. Regardless, I decided to give it some thought, and this week I will answer this question to the best of my ability with 5 tips on how anybody can try to win over the girl or guy they are pursuing. Of course, as with any advice, results may vary and I do not take responsibility for rejection/negative outcomes. I do however take full credit for any positive outcomes, so feel free to reach out to me with any success stories! Now, without further adieu, my top 5 tips to win over whoever could be your future soulmate.

1. CREATIVE Compliments

Everybody loves a good compliment, but some get old after a while. People can only hear "Nice hair" or "Pretty eyes" for so long before they tune out. Come up with something creative like "I think you have a really profound outlook on our current political climate" or "I really love the vowel to consonant ratio in your middle name". People will LOVE to hear that new take on compliments, especially when they are not related to looks.

2. Show you have a great taste in music

A good music taste can really set you a part from other people. Show diversity in your music taste. Make a playlist to show off that features everything from the Halo Theme song to Smash Mouth to Big Time Rush. It shows culture, and nothing is sexier than a cultured individual.

3. Fashion

A good fashion sense is another distinguishing factor that can give you a better chance at winning over that potential S.O. You need to make your style super unique. Throw in accent pieces like underwear outside of your pants, or wearing nothing but a cloak. Classic.

4. Confidence

You need the confidence to go up and talk to them. More than that though, you need to be confident in all areas of life. I'm talkin' walking around the halls of your building shirtless kind of confidence. In fact, make at least one shirtless appearance per week in whatever communal area you have in your building. I want you to feel untouchable, like you're a statue of a Greek god or godess. That's a MAJOR key..

5. Make sure they're single

If you wanna get somebody to be your bae, you need to make sure they don't already have one. You can do this by stalking all of their social media accounts. Alternatively, you can flat out ask them, but then immediately follow the question up with "I'm just curious or "I'm just wondering" That's a super sneaky tactic where you can get information but also not expose any ulterior motives you may have

That's it for my 5 tips on winning over that guy or girl who you've been wanting to ask out, I hope you go out and use them at your own discretion, and maybe you can be the first success story!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
