Whether you are artistically talented or not, art can be an escape for everyone. Some people have found other sources for stress relief, such as dance, music, and more. I could pick up an instrument and play, but it would sound absolutely atrocious. I could dance in front of an audience, but I would surely get laughed at. With art, anyone can make something beautiful no matter their talent. If you do have a talent for these things, you have a beautiful gift. I am not putting musicians or dancers down, I am simply making a comparison, if you picked up a pencil and a piece of paper you could draw anything, whether it looks good or not, it is still art. I would love to play an instrument or be a dancer and I believe everyone could if they took the time to practice. Just like with art, it takes a lot of practice.

These three things have so much beauty in them, if you have tried all three and found that none of them entertain your mind, I hope you are able to find something that does. I understand how difficult it can be to find a hobby, life consumes your time every day. Some days it may seem like you have no free time whatsoever. This is when priorities come to play. It takes time just to organize your time, but since it is a new year, try to plan ahead. You have an entire year before you, make the most of it.

I and many others are blessed to have access to resources for almost any hobby we can think of. I have been able to purchase tons of art supplies, I have internet access for help and inspiration, but do I take advantage of these things? Yes, I do, and far too often. Observe every blessing around you, you have access to things people are praying, wishing, and hoping for. I want to look back at this year and see that I used every second of every day improving, that I used every resource available to me and to stop taking things for granted. I am not labeling this as a resolution because who is able to keep those? Not me.

Let's make 2018 the most productive year so far. The things we can accomplish are unlimited.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
