According to magazine articles and astrology.com, my zodiac sign is Aries for the month of April. Zodiac signs have been popular since years back in Ancient Egypt B.C. The Ram, in particular, is an animal that represents the meaning of Aries. Rams are usually honored as a symbol of leadership.

From what I gathered, people from my ancestry and zodiac were said to be leaders and pioneers. Rams were also known to be assertive and independent creatures using their horns to barge into their enemies. I just love how being a native allows me to approach life “head-on." With just about anything, I am able to tackle my differences and take on struggles with a pinch of salt.

For this Christmas, I will give gifts to just about any of my relatives and set goals for myself this New Year as a new leader. Here are some lessons to learn from my zodiac sign this Christmas and New Year.

I'm very organized and have multiple talents.

It's interesting to be an Aries. I have many traits with one of them being very organized and capable to finish several tasks at once. In terms of challenges, I would hold a personality that would enable me to fight for my own goals and to embrace togetherness with my family and new friends.

I'm brave of going through trial and error situations this New Year. My zodiac sign can help me bring about change in my life for the better.

I choose to become a leader, not only in my everyday life but in the workplace.

I love to take risks and compensate for what I have lost in the past. It creates a sense of orderly for making better decisions in the present and future. As a leader, I would learn to forgive myself for making mistakes and succeed in my chosen path or career in life. What I find really worthy is to actually fight my emotions and keep on track of them.

Being an Aries, I won't fall down to small things that may affect my mood and emotions. When I am faced with challenges, I will analyze the situation and come with a better solution that makes my problem fall into place.

A leader has to take risks to learn more about their life. This New Year, I will make better decisions in applying for jobs and make sure to be more active within my college community.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
