On New Years Day, Season 22 of The Bachelor premiered. I know what you're thinking. Yes, this show is still on and yes crazy people like me still watch it even thought we already know what's going to happen! This couple may not last but why not watch it and see who is the last girl standing and who could possibly be the next Bachelorette. There's always a bunch of crying, jealousy, and all other types of drama throughout every season but of course this is going to happen when we have twenty something women dating one man. Here I present you with a review of this season's premiere.
First, the season premiere gives us a background on our Bachelor, Arie Luyendyk Jr. He is a former race car driver but is now a real estate agent. He was the runner-up in Emily Maynard's season of the Bachelorette. His reason for wanting to be the Bachelor is that he hasn't had luck with love ever since being on the show. Arie wants a love connection similar to what he had with Emily and no experience has been like that. I'll leave you to figure out what that means because I don't. I didn't want that season but seems like it ended really bad. Emily didn't read Arie's journal he wrote in throughout the season that he left for her to read and hearing that alone just hurt me!
This is Arie.
The show picking Arie as this season's Bachelor caused a mix of reactions. Some were wondering why not someone more recent like a guy from Rachel's season. Maybe people were rooting for Peter to be the next Bachelor but that did not end up happening.
Just talking about Arie being this season's bachelor could be another article itself. Let's get onto the contestants!
Chelsea
Olivia from Ben's season of the Bachelor, is that you?! As soon as she was introduced, I thought to myself she looked familiar and then when once she was in the house with the other girls claiming she was a good person and not rude, I immediately thought she is going to be the Olivia of this season. Then she confirmed it for me when she received the first impression rose. I called it!
Four Laurens
Lauren B., Lauren S., Lauren G., and Lauren J.
Is it a really a Bachelor season if there is not at least two Laurens? Nope and this season there just happens to be four in the season premiere. We see what you're doing here Bachelor.
Tia
As soon as Tia spoke and said she was from Weiner, Arkansas I knew she was going to know Raven and what do you know? Raven makes a guest appearance as goes to Raven's boutique. They even have the same accent. Although Raven was the runner-up on her season she still managed to find love in paradise and probably convince Tia to give the Bachelor a shot.
At Least Half of The Contestants Were Either Aspiring Real Estate Agents or Already Working in Real Estate
I've never seen so many real estate careers. What happened to all the Sales Representatives and other random things that everyone seems to do? Who is going to sell all the houses while they are all on this show?
The Preview of Rest of the Season
Well there's lots of crying and someone's boyfriend shows up. Will you be tuning in for the rest of this season?
P.S- Did anyone else notice that the rose ceremony ended in daylight?
