Monday evening on May 22nd, 2017, Ariana Grande hosted a concert in Manchester. At 10:30 that evening, not too long after the concert had ended, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device which has wounded more than 50 concert goes and killed 22, the youngest being only 8.
Photos and videos have been surfacing all throughout the week of the attack. People have banded together to help find the missing people, and to just be there for a shoulder to cry on.
Since the attack, Ariana Grande has flown back to her hometown to be with loved ones; Her tour has been suspended until further notice. Celebrities of all walks of life have been pouring their support and love into the social media world.
One thing that stands out about Grande is her love for her fans. A source told People magazine that, "Right now, her main head-space and focus is the victims and how she can help. It's less about her and her own state, and it's more about them. She's alive, she's safe. This isn't about her – it's about the victims."
Grande, who tweeted after the bombing her apologies, has been reported on offering to pay for the funeral expenses of those who passed away. This speaks a lot about her character and her love for people.
Some probably might have turned this into a publicity thing where they played the victim, but instead, Grande turns it around and plays the helper.
Some have called her a "hero" for paying for the funerals, but I disagree. No one, at least in this scenario, can be seen as a hero.
This was an unfortunate attack that now has England on the highest threat level alert.
This is something that Grande has chosen to do out of the goodness of her heart.
Yes, she is traumatized and probably will be for a long time, but so are her fans. No one asked for this, they were just simply victims.
Although nothing can replace the lives of lost love ones, Grande is making sure she can do everything in her power to make everything a little easier. She has class and character.
