The world often reminds us how corrupt, hurtful, and deceitful it is. Numerous tragedies took place this summer, leaving the world in a cautious and shaken state. We feel like we lose faith in ourselves, others, sometimes I'm not here to tell you that everything is going to get better soon or that the violence in this world will end because that is something that I do not know the answer to myself. What I want to remind ourselves is that with all the bad, the violence, and lies that seem to surround us, there is still goodness in the world.
I recently was reminded of this myself in a recent post by the Power of Positivity.
1. You have a roof over your head.
2. You ate a meal today.
3. You have a good heart.
4. You wish well for others.
5. You have accessibility to clean water.
6. Someone out there cares for you.
7. You forgive others.
8. You have clean clothes.
9. You stay in faith.
10. You're breathing.
We have so much to be thankful for. If not all of these things, there's hopefully one thing on this list that you have. In times of hardship, there is always a little ray of sunshine, somewhere on the planet, peeping through the gray clouds. As cliché or as obvious as it may sound, it can be hard to remember that there is so much to be thankful for. We remember this perhaps only a few times a year, mostly through holidays, but sometimes we need to remember these things are certain ups and downs in our lives. If there's ever a time where you're down and cannot think of anything to appreciate, read this list for ideas and make a list of at least three things yourself.
