School is finally over, and that means you can finally leave your apartment or dorm that you've gotten so tired of.

Don't get me wrong, being in a dorm or in an apartment with your friends is so fun, but there comes a point where you just want to go home and take advantage of how convenient and comfortable everything is. Say thank you to your mom for doing your laundry all those years, hug your home friends because you didn't realize how much you missed them, and enjoy these next three months.

1. Having a car.

Whether you have your own, borrow your parent's, or share with a sibling, I promise using a car at home is much easier than at school. You can just get where you need to go without worrying about garages filling up or if you have the right permit to park somewhere.

2. Not doing your own laundry.

If you're lucky, your mom still does your laundry for you when she's home. Even if you don't, I bet the walk to your laundry room is much easier than walking down four flights of stairs with an over-filled laundry basket just to find out that all the machines are taken.

3. Sleeping in.

Sleeping in your own bed is the best feeling, and not having to wake up for your 8 am is even better. Even when I do have to wake up early, its just nice to know I don't have to walk 20 minutes to my classroom.

4. So many more food options.

I was getting so tired of the 5 restaurants that I would rotate going to. There are so many more options at home, plus they're familiar and easier to get to.

5. Doing nothing.

At school, when I'm not productive I feel so guilty. Here, I don't mind sitting on the couch, watching TV for 3 hours.

6. Home friends.

There is nothing better than reunited with your high school "squad", knowing that this break isn't just a week long. Before you know it, it is like you guys never left.

7. Family.

It is so nice, most of the timing, being back with your family. Family dinners and movie nights are just as exciting as you remembered.

8. A full kitchen.

I never appreciated a full fridge and groceries like I do now. I do not have to worry about walking my groceries up four flights of stairs to my dorm, just to realize that they barely fit in my mini fridge. I can finally put food into the toaster or the oven instead of microwaving everything.

9. Your pets.

I am finally reunited with my puppy and I have never been happier.

10. A working shower.

You no longer have to live in fear that there is no shower pressure or no hot water. You also do not have to wear shower shoes, or drag your soap in and out of the bathroom.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
