Do we wear watches on our wrists for a reason or does the watches wear us? Some people argue that wearing a watch is a way to control our addiction to our phones everyday. Well, I don't know about that because my Apple watch is pretty awesome and it's come in handy a lot of different times. Are smart watches actually smarter than we think?

1. When you get Twitter updates because of drama.

This is the best thing ever when you're sitting in class and all of a sudden, your watch is like tap, tap, tap, pay attention to me please. You should look at this Twitter drama. So then you're in class supposed to be taking notes but instead you're looking down at your watch.

2. Stand up!

When you've been sitting down for too long and your watch tells you to stand up because you've been too lazy. Mine tells me to stand up once an hour. #lazy

3. Not enough steps today!

Really? Like I've been so productive today, but I really want to hit 10k steps today to prove that I'm amazing and that I can stick to my goals so now I'm gonna go on a walk.

4. Drink more water!

If you download more apps onto your Apple Watch you can have reminders to tell you to drink more water. This is super handy because sometimes during the day I get super busy and the last thing I think about is water. And some days, I only drink coffee, tea, or pop.

5. All the health sensors on a tiny little device.

I'm constantly checking that heart rate, how many calories I burned, how many miles I've walked so far today, and literally everything else. I like setting up mini goals for myself throughout the day and then seeing myself

6. You can text and call on an Apple watch.

I love this feature because sometimes my phone is in my backpack or somewhere put away I can still reply to texts or answer a phone call! Yay for technology!

7. If you lose your phone, your watch has a panic button for that.

It's called the ping button. Ain't gonna lie, I've had to use that panic button a couple of times already. But it works! The watch sends a sound to your phone which helps you find it faster (even if it's on silent mode.)

8. Games?

Is this really important in the grand scheme of things? Meh, not really.

9. The trophies and achievements

Along your fitness journey, with every step you take, and every mile you walk or run; you can unlock trophies and achievements. And trust me somehow, you'll end up wanting all of these stupid trophies unlocked.

10. You can connect with friends and compete

This is a super cool feature that I didn't even know about until recently someone told me. Friends who have Apples watches can connect with you and they can see how far you've walked in your day and how many calories you burned. It's basically a competition for who can get the most miles in a day.

Like literally what more could a person possibly want on an Apple watch besides a camera to take selfies with?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
