The holidays are right around the corner, and to help spice up your meals, I have collected some tasty appetizers that will be sure to make your guests happy. With your friends and family joining you at the table, it’s time to step your game up.
1. Brie, apple and honey crostini
What you’ll need:
1 baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 jar Private Selection apple butter
6 ounces brie (I use Murray’s brie)
2 large apples
Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup candied pecans, chopped
Honey, for drizzling over crostini
2. Spinach dip bites
What you’ll need:
2 cups frozen spinach, chopped and thawed
1 6-ounce jar artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
½ tsp. minced garlic
2 TB grated parmesan cheese
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
½ tsp. garlic salt
pepper to taste
1 can seamless crescent dough
3. Antipasto skewers
What you’ll need:
24 mini fresh mozzarella balls
24 olives
12 slices of salami, cut in half
24 small basil leaves
2 roasted peppers (or 1 jar)
1 jar artichoke hearts
½ pound fresh tortellini, cooked
Bamboo skewers
4. Roasted Brussel sprouts, squash, pecans, and cranberries
What you’ll need:
3 cups Brussel Sprouts
3 tbsp. oil
1 & ½ pounds of butternut squash
3 tbsp maple syrup
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups halved pecans
1 cup dried cranberries
5. Cucumber bites
What you’ll need:
2 – cucumbers
12 – cherry tomatoes
4 oz. – cream cheese softened
1 tbsp. – mayonnaise
3 tbsp. – light ranch
1 tbsp. – frozen or fresh dill
¼ tsp. – garlic salt
Black pepper for garnish
6. Spinach puffs
What you’ll need:
1 - 10 oz. package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1/2 cup crumbled feta
1/4 cup finely chopped scallions
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, pressed
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 large eggs, separated
1 - 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed but still cold (leave it in the fridge to thaw)
