Many people make New Year's resolutions and, after a week, throw them out of the window. Others don't make them at all. And most think they're pointless, empty promises.
I think they're motivating. I think they're necessary. After all, being able to reflect on the past year and acknowledge areas of your life that need improvement is a wonderful ability. A little bit of personal constructive criticism, in my opinion, is beautiful.
So...
Another year is behind us; another year is in front of us.
It's 2018.
Did you accomplish your goals in 2017? Were you happy? Was it a year to remember? Did you progress? Did you jump over life's hurdles? Did you grow?
If you didn't have a great 2017, or even if you did, January 1st symbolizes a clean slate. If you want to make changes, make them. If you want to grow, grow.
Here are 18 resolutions that should be on your list:
1. Figure out where you stand.
2. Blossom in at least one of your passions.
3. Be more patient.
4. Improve your emotional and spiritual health, not just your physical health.
5. Focus your energy on positive relationships.
6. Be more sincere.
7. Drink yummy drinks.
8. Commit to something, small or big.
9. Manage your stress in a healthy way.
10. De-clutter your life, mind, home.
11. Listen to your body.
12. Implement consistent self-care routines.
13. Take the stairs.
14. Get off your phone.
15. Journal.
16. Have charisma. Self-advocate. Advocate for others.
17. Learn how to agree to disagree.
18. Trust yourself and the things you believe in.
If you set your heart and mind to it, this can be your year.
Happy New Year, friends!
