Angel Really Is An 'Angel'!

We all have someone we truly care about and who make a huge impact in our lives. They support us with our accomplishments and our failures. They are their for us at our best and during our worst times. They continue to show how important you are in their lives. This special person is my sister Angel. She is one of the most important people in my life and I'm very grateful to have her as my sister! She is my rock and I can always count on her to be there and to make me laugh when I'm feeling down.

We weren't always close because she didn't really care too much for me when we were younger. She is also two and a half years older than me so she grew up way faster than I did. We didn't always see eye to eye but whenever we fought it brought us closer together. Even though she didn't like me, she stood up for me when I got bullied. When I was in kindergarten, an older boy started to tease me on the bus. When my sister noticed, she grabbed the boy's t-shirt and lifted him up. I remember her saying, "If you ever tease my little sister again, we're going to have problems, and I'm coming for you!" That was the first time she stood up for me and I remember thinking, 'Yea, that's my sister!'

When the years passed, we've gotten even closer. Especially when a special person entered our lives, and my sister couldn't stop talking about him for months on end. I also remember meeting him for the first time, and that was Jamie! Because of him, my sister and I became even closer! I also call us the Three Musketeers because we're all so close. She's been there for me at my band concerts, my academic banquets, and my marching band pre-view shows. It's nice to have such a caring and compassionate sister!

She's always there for everyone, she also makes it her job to make sure her friends and family to get home safe. She also has this funny thing by asking her friends Jamie and Will if their "Ok!" She may not know just how important she is in everyone's lives, but she's important to me! She's also a social butterfly because she talks to everyone she meets, and befriends them. She has a huge heart and she shows it every day just by being my sister!

She's also crazy at times which makes it pretty funny when she gets frustrated. She also texts to many people all the time, especially when she needs to know they're alright. She's a worry wart for the important people in her life. I am very thankful to have a sister like her! Always tell the people in your life how much they mean to you, and I do that every day!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
