Shooting 135 film really opens up a lot of depth and creative space for the photographer. In this article, I'll share some shots that I've taken on 35mm film during my time spent in Portland, and talk briefly about some of the shots.
This was a street portrait of a young lady I saw in downtown Portland. I love the softness to this shot, and the black and white film really blends everything nicely with the white wall and black trim.
The color cast on these leaves is really nice, and I loved the tones of the leaves when I saw them. The highlights look really nice in contrast with how the light falls on the leaves.
Similar to the Tesla shot, this shot shows the smoothness of black and white film.
Lastly, the bokeh of film can be very pleasing due to the lower "resolution" it produces.
Portland gave me a lot to work with from street shooting, to nature, and back to portraits. I was really pleased with the subject matter that was available there!
