A Letter To The Protesters In Atlanta

As a citizen of the great southern state of Georgia let me tell you that I have found myself recently watching the news A LOT. And by a lot, I mean every time it comes on, some days on ALL three channels that my network provides for news. During this adventure into the world of current and local events it has come to my attention that many people are upset. Disturbed by the way the world's human population is treating each other. And let me tell you I AM WITH YOU on that. I don't like the way this is turning out either and change NEEDS to happen soon! I have watched countless news stories on protests going on all around the world in the last few weeks, but one group of protesters has caught my eye for a very specific reason.

So, to the protesters right here in Atlanta Georgia,

First of all let me tell you; we hear you. We know that you want change and we know that you are angry. But I want to take a minute to thank you. Thank you for protesting the right way. So far you have not broken any windows, harmed anyone or stolen anything. You are simply marching and sitting where you and everyone else can be safe but effective. We appreciate you not vandalizing stores or cars, and we want your voice to be heard. Many protesters often go to extreme measures to get their messages out there. But you are being heard without hurting anyone, breaking any laws or acting outright stupid. The protests going on in Atlanta in the last week are a shining example to protesters and activists everywhere. You are teaching others that there is a right way and a wrong way to be heard and we appreciate you and your efforts to stay non-violent. This is the way it should be.

It is easy to grab someone's attention when you egg their car or spray-paint their shop window, but they are usually not too inclined to listen to what you want. Most times this type of behavior is met with criminal charges and no one really ends up accomplishing anything that they set out to achieve. Sitting and marching is much more effective and you all in Atlanta are demonstrating that beautifully! You are not being arrested, hosed, beaten or asked to leave. We know you have a right to do what you are doing and we will not stop you. Unless of course you stop being smart and start acting dumb. So thank you once again for doing it right. I hope you all accomplish the change that you want and deserve, and as always, MARCH ON!

Love Always.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
