I will never forget growing up and my aunt always reminding me in every situation that “we are strong independent woman and we can do this ourselves”. It was burned into my head that I was capable of doing anything on my own regardless of my gender.
Now, even though I strive to be able to support myself, that doesn’t mean that I hate men or am against asking for help if I need it. I see it more as I want to be able to stand on my own two feet, and know that if I put my mind to anything it is possible. As cliché as this topic may be, I couldn’t be more passionate about setting goals other than simply getting my “Mrs.” Degree.
We see it all the time, how women can fall victim to the man, whether it be the workforce, relationship, or even in a day-to-day life scenario. Who is to say I cant be a CEO one day and run a company, or be the main supporter of my family in the future? I believe I can and I believe you can too. We hear way too often that men are the ones who can run the world but let’s not forget what Queen B taught us that girls run the world. You would think it would put an end to the topic, since you know, it is Beyonce…but I guess we just have to prove it for ourselves.
To all the girls who aspire to be so much more than what is expected of them; you can do it and don’t let anyone ever tell you differently. One day we could all be CEO’s or even the president of the United States.
