An Open Letter To The Girl Feeling Lost
Abbey Marzen

Hey you,

I see that you've lost your way a little bit. No worries, we all lose our way eventually. I know you think that it'll be like this forever.

I promise it won't be.

There will eventually be a light at the end of this dark tunnel. I can't exactly tell you when that light will come, but everything is in God's timing. It is in these moments that God asks us to be faithful to Him the most, and I think you should take advantage of this situation.

The things that define you are the things that happen at your lowest and at your highest. I promise you that if you try your best to remain strong throughout these low points, God will prevail in places that you never thought you'd see him.

I remember when I was at my lowest point. Heartbroken and confused, I tried everything I could to make things better. I tried spending more time with friends and family, and I tried exercising and all of the things that everyone suggested to me. I tried all of them.

Eventually, I gave up. I decided that none of these things were going to work, and that I'd just be stuck like that forever. It was at this moment that I saw God begin work in my life. Everything that was broken in my life was eventually restored. I think back on this time in my life with gratitude. I learned such a valuable lesson from this low point.

Everything is and will be on God's timing. God shows his face in places that I would've never expected in my life. As soon as I feel like I've hit bottom, I realize that God has already caught me, and that things are starting to get better.

The unfortunate thing is that since it is on God's timing, we can feel lonelier than ever, depending on how long it takes. It could take days, months, and even years. I wish that wasn't the case, but the reality of it is that the wait is worth it. No matter how long the wait is, God will make everything worth it. You'll learn so many lessons out of this dark walk. You are not alone.

This is the time to grow with God. When you begin to grow stronger with God, when things start looking up, you'll be a much stronger person as a result.

You might be in a downfall right now, and things might get worse than they are right now, but just now that you are about to encounter a major come up. You will see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it will shine brighter than ever, just like you.

Sincerely,

A Girl Who Knows How You're Feeling

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
