An Open Letter to Roger Goodell and the NFL

The NFL should be ashamed by what they have become.

An Open Letter to Roger Goodell and the NFL
TheSportsReview

Dear Roger Goodell and the NFL,

I just want to start of by saying that yes everybody has their freedoms, but what has been going on lately is taking it above and beyond the freedoms that people have. I am personally a big football fan, but will no longer be supporting the NFL because of the disrespect that has been demonstrated in the last few weeks. I get that politics does not need to be brought into sports, but President Trump has every right to say the things he has been saying after just about every NFL team had players kneel or not even come to the sidelines during the National Anthem. You wear a jersey and make millions of dollars playing a sport that everyone once favored because of the freedom you have from the men and women who sacrificed THEIR OWN LVIES. You have the privilege to play the sport you love and are passionate about because of the many Americans who gave you that right, but yet you feel that it is right to kneel or not make an appearance during the National Anthem. Let me tell you, that is just downright disrespectful in so many ways. You are basically saying that you don't care about the men and women who gave their life so that you could live out your dream of being in the NFL. Secondly, by doing this hateful action, you are basically making it look like you don't like the country you live in or appreciate the freedoms you have. If you feel that you don't have to respect the country you live in that gives you your freedoms, or respect the nation and the flag, then why don't you leave? If you can't support the country you live in and the men and women who died for you, then you DO NOT deserve to be wearing a jersey playing a sport with an American flag on the back of the helmet.

To Mr. Goodell, you should be embarrassed by what you have let the NFL become. The players and yourself are saying it is because of President Trump, but let's just clear something up. This all started when quarterback Colin Kaepernick began to kneel during the National Anthem, when President Obama was still in office. So that is just making you and your NFL teams look disrespectful by lying. You have a problem with the Dallas Cowboys wanting to show their support for the fallen law enforcement who lost their life while on the line of duty, but do not have a problem with your league kneeling during the National Anthem? I really hope that Trump keeps on the NFL about their rude and disrespectful actions because it will make us Americans realize that we do not need to waste our time on Sundays anymore watching what we all used to love at one point. You will quickly see how many viewers you lose over this ordeal, how many fans the team will lose, and how fast the NFL merchandise inventory will go down. All I have to say is that I will not give my support to the players who kneel during the National Anthem and will not be watching any games.

Sincerely,

A former NFL supporter.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
