Dear Human,

Hey... remember me? I hope so. These past couple of weeks have been kind of rough without you around the house. Whenever I hear a car come up our street I run outside to see if it's you! I always get really excited when I see a grey car parking on the side of the street, but then I realize everything I see is grey...

The first couple of days when you first left were really hard. I woke up one day and you and all your stuff was gone! A couple days later when Mom noticed I was moping around sad, she finally told me where you went. I really wasn't listening that well because she started to scratch my belly and you know when that happens everything goes in one floppy ear and out the other. All I heard was the word "college" and I knew where you went. I remember you telling me when you were a kid that one day you'd be gone and went to this "college," but I didn't understand what you meant butI knew it would come one day.The first week I honestly just thought you were at another one of your summer camps, but after you didn't come home, I started to kind of get that this "college" had come.

Mom tells me that you'll be back soon and I will wait by the door every time I hear keys jingle trying to get the front door open in hopes that it is you. I shall smell all of your stuff when you come home just in case you happen to pass any other dogs on your way home. I hope that you didn't pet any because if you did, we are going to have to have a long talk when you get home.

Wherever this "college" place is I hope you are okay, Human. I hope you are taking as many naps as you did at home and you don't miss my barking at the mail man too much. I hope one day he gets the hint that I don't want him on our lawn anymore, but it's been a five year struggle but I will not lose hope. Same goes for that stupid squirrel that lives in the tree in the very back of our backyard. His presence irks me and I can not wait for him to fall from the weak branch one day. I miss you a lot and I hope you come home soon.

Love, Your Dog

P.S. When you do come home please bring Bacon Strips.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
