An Open Letter To My Dog

My dog is like a combination of my best friend and my child.

An Open Letter To My Dog

From the moment you meet your dog, whether it’s at the shelter or pet store, you know you are starting a special bond with this animal.

You could never imagine the love and smiles they will give you once you take him or her home. My dog, Bubba, is almost like a combination of my best friend and my only child. If you have a dog, you know they are angels and a special part of your family.

Bubba, you are the best dog in the world and I’m so glad you’re mine. We formed a special connection the day we adopted you and brought you home from the shelter.

When I asked the owner of the shelter to take you for a walk, the weirdest and cutest thing ever happened: you automatically walked right to my car and sat down. If that wasn't a sign that it was meant to be, I don't know what is.

I’ve had you since I was 10 years old. Fast-forward eight years later, and our bond is still so incredibly strong. Now, you're older and so am I.

I try my best to set aside time every night to cuddle with you before bed and you try your best to make me feel better by sitting next to me when I am sick or not feeling well. I would brush you as long as you want and give you all the treats and table food in the world if I could.

Bubs, you are the light of my life and you make everyone you meet fall in love with you. I don't know if you understand what “You’re my good boy” means, but I know you feel my love and I feel yours.

Thank you for cheering me up, letting me take you on walks, and for all the snuggling we've shared together over the years. It makes me so happy to see you run around the house when I come home. I’m sorry for getting mad when you chew stuff you aren't supposed to and run away when I let you out in the yard, but I could never stay mad at you for long.

And I know you're mad when we make you get a haircut or a bath, but I’m sure you forgive us for that. I’m sorry if I make you sad when I leave, but it makes me sad to leave my best friend, too. I care for you so much because you are such a big source of happiness in my life. I am very grateful to have you as not only a wonderful pet, but also my best friend. I love you, Bubba.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
