Dad,
Today is the day dedicated to you where you really don't have to go to work, mow the lawn, give people your money or take crap from anyone. It seems just about like every day you're doing one or more listed above. And trust me, even if it doesn't seem like it, everyone really appreciates your dedication and selflessness to make sure those around you are happy.
What would make all of us really happy today (and other days too!) is for your to relax and give yourself a break. It's hard knowing how you're feeling when I'm away at school, especially since it seems like you're stuck at work all of the time, so it makes it hard to communicate. I am very happy, though to start the summer with celebrating you today, because nobody desrves this day more than you.
I want to let you know how much I appreciate you as my father. As the bread maker in the family, I am sure it sometimes seems like you're being used for money (as I am sure MANY fathers feel). Of course, your generosity is oh so appreciated, but what I appreciate more is our FaceTime calls at school and your first question always being, "How's the weather? On my weather app it says that there were thunderstorms in Charleston earlier today." And even though a "Keep your head on a swivel and be safe" may make me say, "Yeah yeah I know I know" in the moment, I also am very thankful for someone that is so concerned about so much about my safety and well-being.
I'm very thankful to be at home with you, and I love you so much! Thanks for being the best dad there is.
Love,
Caroline
