To my boyfriend's friends,

When I entered your lives as the girl your friend was dating, I never expected to gain a new family. I never expected to rely on you guys so heavily. I never expected to be this comfortable with a group of guys. I know I wasn't the person you all wanted around at first, but now I can't imagine my life without you guys. You guys provide a special place in my life, and I know you guys will probably never understand how much you mean to me.

You have all become older brothers to me, and I know I can come to you about any issue, even one regarding my boyfriend. I know you guys will always have my back through my life. Having awesome guys like you to rely on through every bad time.

You guys all notice when I seem off or upset, and listen to me when I tell you why. You take care of me when I am having a bad time, And most of you have opened up to me about vulnerable things in life, whether its girls, family, mental health, or just life in general, and I feel so lucky that you guys have entrusted me with those parts of who you are.

When I started dating your best friend, I never realized that meant I was becoming a part of a spectacular, one of a kind group of extraordinary people. I am so grateful that you guys, who started off as my boyfriends friends, have become my friends.

Thank you for being who you are, and thank you for letting me be who I am.

Sincerely,

Your future "sister-in-law"

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
