I'm sure you've heard of me. I hear about you. Some of my best friend's best stories from college involve you — these stories we exchange during breaks.
I can't wait to hear the ones from this semester.
Is part of me jealous? Of course. But it's not because I dislike you. It's not because I wish he didn't know you.
Growing up, all of my best memories from our hometown included him--and now we are apart making other memories with other people. Memories part of me wishes could include him.
Luckily, we have a bond and friendship that continues regardless of our locations.
All in all, I am so happy he has found you. I'm so happy he has people to make memories with because our dreams have landed us in different areas.
It's true that you want those you love to be happy. I love seeing his Facebook posts and Instagram pictures.
I would also be lying if I said I didn't then click on you and creep for a hot second.
He's lucky to have found such fun, kind souls.
But you are also incredibly lucky.
You've found a great friend. A friend who will have your back no matter what. A friend who will make sure you get home in bed even if you drunkenly forget your address. A friend who will hate someone just because you do.
You've found a keeper. Even if you go your separate ways after college, you know he will still be there for you.
Thank you for having his back when I can't be there.
