Idol: noun \ˈī-dəl\
a greatly loved or admired person. // a picture or object that is worshipped as a god

Hi.

You probably have no idea who I am and you probably will never meet me but I’m a huge fan. I won’t throw myself at you and tell you that I’m “literally your biggest fan!” I won’t overwhelm you with an obscene amount of tweets on the daily basis telling you to “follow me!! I love you so much!” I’ll tweet you here and there asking how you are and just tell you how much you mean to me. That’s pretty much my job.

Anyway, I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to say to you for quite some time now. You’ve given me so much to think about and so much to be grateful for, that I’m still not quite sure how to put it into words but here I am. You’re so strong and beautiful. I really admire your ability to fight what you believe in. I know sometimes you have your days where getting out of bed isn't the easiest thing, and I relate to that but I want you to know, that you're not alone. You'll never be alone. You’re so genuine, sweet and honest I really don’t know what I did to deserve such an amazing idol.

Thank you for giving me the strength to wake up in the morning and do my best and make it through the day. You taught me how to be okay with being myself and you taught me how to be brave. Whenever I think about giving up, you always cross my mind. I think of you and how you’ve changed my life for the better. I’ve learned so many things from you, you’ve stayed true to yourself no matter what and that’s truly something so admirable that I strive for every day.

Your smile automatically fuels me to be a better person and changes my entire day from cloudy to sunny. Your happiness truly means the world to me; as long as you’re happy, I’m happy. Your voice is so calming, I’m so glad I can listen to albums upon albums of your music when I’m anxious or uneasy about some situations. Your raw emotion and passion bring me to tears almost every time, that’s how powerful you are, and I hope you know that. Your mom was on to something all those years ago, you know, when you were singing at weddings at bar mitzvahs.

“Honey, don’t worry. It’s it’s all gonna work out okay. Your voice makes people’s hearts soar on eagle’s wings.”

And let me tell you right now, she was right. No matter how many times you doubt yourself on a daily basis, I want you to be able to look past all of that because you have people like me who look up to you in every light. Sure, you might be a mess sometimes but you're our mess. You’re my idol. You’re my rock. You mean so much to me. Thanks for everything.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
