From The Girl Who Wants To Glorify God Through Her Writing

It has been a blessing so far, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.

I always knew God has a plan for my life. Little did I know, though, that His plan involved writing.

When I was a little girl I read the book "Harriet The Spy." The main character, Harriet, was always writing about everything. The book inspired me to start writing things down in a journal, in order to remember events, places and people that had meaning in my life. Ever since then, I have been writing stories, plays and articles about my life experiences. I have been crafting my writing in order to make it better.

I want to be a writer, particularly a faith writer because faith has always been the biggest aspect of my life. Writing for a faith-based publication full time is a dream for me, and it always has been. I also have always wanted to interview famous artists like Celine Dion, as well as Christian artists and bands like Casting Crowns, Third Day and Mercy Me.

I want to be able to spread His message throughout the world in the best way I can — through the written word. God has given me this gift, and I intend to use it well. I don't write for my own recognition, I do it to bring others closer to Him. That is my main goal in life, to show people who Christ is through my actions and through my writing.

I also want to be an opinion columnist. I've always enjoyed reading others' opinions about faith, music and the world in general because they help me branch out on my own views and help generate new and exciting ideas for my articles. Writing columns has always been a strong part of who I am as a writer. I've always wanted to share my views on music and on faith with the world.

To the people who believed in me and encouraged me to follow my dream of writing, thank you. Thank you for telling me to follow my heart and my dream of becoming a writer. Although it has taken a long time to get to the opportunities I have now, thank you for telling me to reach for the stars and to never give up. Thank you for reminding me to pursue my dream with a passion that no one else has.

Gram, thank you for always helping spark my creativity even when I didn’t think I had a clue as to where to go with an article. Thank you for always saying that you’re proud of me and my many accomplishments.

Dad, thank you for giving me the ideas to write about Christian songs and to dig deeper into the songs we both love so that people understand some of the meanings behind them. Thank you for telling me that God has a terrific plan for my life.

To my boyfriend, thank you for being a rock of stability during tough times, through my writing journey and for supporting me through every part of it. Thank you for supporting me, especially through college, and now, as I continue doing what I love.

I want to be a writer that gives the glory to God through the work I do. It is something I feel I'm called to do. It is only by His purpose, will and plan that I am where I am now. It has been a blessing so far, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
