An Apology To College Conservatives

It must be tough when other people become a little more equal to you.

An Apology To College Conservatives
Daily Caller

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of people who identify as Millennials and conservatives share online that they've felt victimized because of their age and political values. Of course we are all entitled to our own opinions, and that's what makes this country great. However, I do understand where these people are coming from. I wanted to write this article to send out an apology to all the millennial conservatives who feel victimized by our liberal country.

I'm sorry you feel outcast by your friends at your liberal arts university.

It's really hard to be an outcast. Just ask the slaves who were literally seen as PROPERTY, or the women who feel left out of politics and STEM fields. Even ask the queer community who faces everything from dirty looks to being murdered for who they are. I know no one is trying to murder you because of your views, but it sure does hurt to get weird looks when you wear a Trump shirt to a party.

I'm sorry that your Christian beliefs are being attacked.

Just by doing a quick Google search, I know that the nearest Christian church to me is 3 minutes away. Meanwhile, the nearest mosque is 30 minutes away. But that doesn't matter because those damn liberals are trying to take God out of our government! The bill of rights doesn't have freedom of religion! Oh, wait...

I'm sorry that abortion is legal.

It's so awful to see a potential life ending before it can begin. It's also awful that those women find themselves in that situation where they would need an abortion. Maybe they should have taken birth control. Oh, but the planned parenthood that provides birth control was defunded. Guess they're out of luck, right?

I'm sorry that heterosexual people are so oppressed these days.

You have marriage equality without even asking, and no discrimination against you because you identify as heterosexual, but gosh darn, you want a pride parade too! Why should they get to celebrate in safety after being tortured and persecuted for hundreds of years? You're special too!

I'm sorry nobody likes your president.

Probably just because he alienates queers, Muslims, women, Mexicans, and many other minorities. But no one cares about them, right?

I'm sorry that everyone thinks you're a bigot because you voted for Trump.

He's just such a good business man! If it means fewer taxes, you can ignore the fact that he talks about assaulting women, calls Mexicans rapists, and says there's 'both sides to a story' after a violent white supremacy march. Can you hear the cries of the oppressed from your new yacht you bought with your tax breaks?

I'm sorry every single news media outlet is 'fake'.

Except for Fox News of course, because they tell you exactly what you want to hear.

Our vice president wants to put me in 'conversion camp' because I like girls. My rights as a woman have been threatened to be taken away, and I am terrified that America elected a man who sexually assaults women. Especially as a rape survivor. Even though the white, male, cisgender, heterosexual, upper class, Christian groups are still at the top of our social pyramid, I'm truly sorry that you get dirty looks when you wear your 'make America great again' hat.

(Maybe it's because the red hats are extremely ugly.)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
