When you think of Boston College, what do you think of? The first thought that comes to mind is probably Gasson Hall, the pride and joy of BC. Gasson was built in 1913 and for over 100 years, Gasson has been an aesthetically pleasing staple to the BC campus. Many people have been awestruck by the pure structural beauty that is Gasson. Cameras have been fabled to take pictures on their own in the midst of it. Men and women weep at the sight of it. Babies immediately stop crying while in it's presence.
Those who have never been to campus may wonder, “What’s so great about Gasson?" To that, I say: what's not great about Gasson? Gasson is always there for you. Gasson is there in the heat of September and in the frigid temperatures of January. Gasson is there, rain or shine, always ready for a #GassonGram or the “Goodnight BC” snap on the campus story. No one at Boston College is ever truly single; Gasson is everyone’s significant other.
Even as you grow older, Gasson always stays the same. Sometimes you and Gasson
get in fights, like when you’re late to class and the elevator is taking too
long so you have to trudge up three flights of stairs. But one look through
it’s hallowed halls and all is forgiven. Gasson is everything you could want and
more.
When you’re out at the Res forcing yourself to workout, who’s there to
cheer you on in the distance? Gasson, that’s who. Gasson alerts you when you’re late to class, tolling it’s bells and letting you know that your education
is of the utmost importance. Thanks Gasson, for being you.
Peace, love, Gasson.
