You don’t have to eat breakfast food in the morning, you can eat it in the afternoon, at night, or at late times of the night that lead into the morning. It sometimes even tastes better at times when it’s not normally eaten. There are some people in this world who do not like breakfast but like breakfast food. Breakfast food isn’t just for breakfast time, it’s for lunch time, dinner time, and snack time.
There are so many things that are classified as “breakfast foods.” There are the basics like eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns, pancakes, and French toast. The quick, easy ones include cereal, oatmeal, fruit, donuts, croissants, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. The fancy ones like avocado toast and acai bowls. No matter if you want to make breakfast into a feast or if you just want it brief and small, you have so many options to choose from. What goes perfectly with breakfast foods are the drinks like coffee, orange juice, milk, or (if you’re of age of course) mimosas and bloody marys. You can eat breakfast at home, at a cute diner, or dress it up for a fancy brunch. Whether you like casual or fancy, sweet or salty, you will find at least one thing you will enjoy.
It may seem weird that I’m writing an ode on the simple topic of breakfast foods, but I recently read a few articles about millennials and their infatuation with avocado toast. This obsession and the amount of money spent on this obsession may seem irrational but it just proves that millennials seem to do breakfast and brunch best. In the olden days, they treated breakfast as the most important meal of the day (as it should be treated). There is a saying, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” So really, we millennials who “spend too much money on breakfast and brunch foods” are just “ahead” of our time, following our ancestors who once did it best. A plus is, if you are a health nut, eating breakfast has many benefits. A healthy breakfast is said to set the tone for your day and increase your body’s energy and strength levels.
So, set a happy tone for your day and start it with breakfast. If you don’t like indulging during the set time, then eat it whenever you want – just make sure to get your daily intake of the goodness of breakfast foods. Parks and Recreation said it best, “There has never been a sadness that can’t be cured by breakfast food.” (Though this may be pushing it, you get the point).
