Hockey fans, get ready for one of the most iconic games in hockey history. On January 14, 2017 at 7 p.m., the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins will take the ice to renew their rivalry through a special alumni game. The game will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia, home of the Philadelphia Flyers. Flyers and Penguins fans, get excited because legends from both teams will take part in this game that is celebrating the 50th anniversary of both teams.

On September 8, season ticket holders were able to be apart of the pre-sale for this game which allowed them to reserve their seats. If you aren't a season ticket holder don't be alarmed, tickets for the general public will be on sale on Friday, September 16 at 11 a.m.

The game will feature all-star players from the 60's all the way to the 00's. As of right now the lineup so far is as followed:

60’s / 70’s

Forwards: Bob Clarke, Bill Barber, Reggie Leach, Bob Kelly, Orest Kindrachuk

Defense: Joe Watson, Jim Watson

80’s

Forwards: Tim Kerr, Dave Poulin, Brian Propp, Murray Craven

Defense: Mark Howe, Brad Marsh, Kjell Samuelsson

90’s

Forwards: Eric Lindros, John LeClair

Defense Luke Richardson, Terry Carkner

00’s

Forwards: Danny Briere, Simon Gagne

Defense: Eric Desjardins

Goaltender: Brian Boucher

The full lineup for both teams will be announced closer to the game day including other special guests that will be attending the game that night.

Flyers and Penguins fans won't want to miss the opportunity to see some of the most iconic players from both teams hit the ice once again. Fans of all ages will be able to experience players from 60's all the way to the 00's in just one game. It's sure to be an evening to remember.

Make sure you get your tickets on September 16, and be on the lookout for more lineup announcements closer to the game day.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
