The past twelve years of my life I’ve waited by my bedroom window at night on the first official calendar “fall” day and found out hours later that nothing happened.
No dropped cooler temperatures.
No bonfires to be had that weekend.
No cute fall attire that I would constantly see reposted all over twitter.
Growing up in Florida is quite a different experience that some people would know nothing about.
You don’t have seasons and sacrifice all your hope and excitement for the “nonexistent” changing of the weather that you wish would come each year. But it doesn’t, and never will.
Being 19 and realizing the fact that this is my life and I have every right to take control of it and not let others’ opinions dictate what goes on in it, I decided to make the leap and move back up north.
To a place that every season experiences its full effect and people actually talk about their plans and what’s going on in their lives because of the weather changing.
I’m so excited for the days to come and months to be had because I am so ready for the orange leaves, white snows, and bright pink flowers.
You see, seasons keep the Earth going and allow Mother nature a way to express her true beauty for all to see.
Without it, you can’t switch over your wardrobe or have cozy nights by the fire or even cme to truly experience what life has to offer in the fullest.
I have so many friends that still have never seen snow and one day I hope they do.
Because it’s beautiful and glistening and so much more exciting to play with than drenching heat.
Not to mention, but the pictures to be taken and the memories to be made with all of that is priceless.
