The silk gown that lays on the celebrities body effortlessly. Her poise and stature attract the eyes of millions. The camera zooms in on her porcelain complexion. Turquoise beads hang above her knees as she keeps her compelling smile at the cameras. The red carpet below her feet stretches to the golden doors where she and many others will sit with champagne. Their worries are only found in the roles they play and the stories they read.

A Rohingya Muslim woman clutches her garments as they are soaked with blood and mud. Her shoulders sink. No cameras can reach the part of the world that she is in. The path below her feet stretches to somewhere new; somewhere safe. She barely escaped the turmoil and execution that occurred in her village. The faceless men that had harmed her took her voice, but she knew she had to call for help. As she and other Rohingya Muslims run for safety, their worries are real, and not a role for money.

The Rohingya Muslims are not the only group being ostracized because of their faith. Outside of our comfortable homes in America, we are rarely informed of the turmoil that others face.

While we sit comfortably at home, villages in Myanmar were burned. The ever-growing tension between the Rohingya Muslims and Buddhists created violence and drove many of the Rohingya to flee to different countries by land or boat. The country is placing blame on their opposers while simultaneously justifying their killings.

The Rohingya are being denied citizenship from their country and are facing violence from the Myanmar Military; which their government denies. While the country is detaining many Rohingya people in camps, others fled for their safety.

They are trying to keep their actions and persecutions a secret by denying human rights investigators to enter the barbed wire fences that hold the ostracised community; the Rohingya Muslims.

It seems as though darkness hangs on everyone's shoulders in Myanmar.

But as we sit at home and watch the Oscars in the safety of our home, it's no wonder no one wants to hear the truth and pretend everything is right in the world.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
