What Would You Do If You Were Kylie Jenner?

Kylie Jenner had a whole human and the world never even knew about it.

I am a teen mom! Okay, all jokes aside, I am not a teen mom. I am a homosexual African American male, who just so happens to have a had a teen mom. This is not about me or people from my situation, in a sense. I, Kaleb McKinnon, am living proof that women are strong and can do whatever they set their minds out to do.

My mother in all her fabulousness, did the damn thing when it came to providing for me and my twin sisters, Peyton and Riley. Now, of course, she did not do it ALL on her own…she did have help from my wonderful grandparents, James and Kay.

In truth, it takes a village to raise a child, let alone doing it as a young woman who has other goals and desires outside of being a mother. BUT! The real reason most of you clicked on this wonderfully titled article was not to hear about me, but to hear about Kylie Jenner and the fact that she hid an entire pregnancy from the WORLD (that takes some serious skill)!

Kylie Jenner, a 20-year-old entrepreneur, Kim Kardashian’s little sister, model, and now most importantly a MOTHER.

Teen pregnancy in America gets a lot of hate but continues to be in decline when compared to say drug use among teenagers in America.

Kylie Jenner, someone who is under a microscope every day of her life, would have received a lot…and I do mean A LOT of bad press if she would have and an exposed pregnancy.

Reason being, Americans already don't understand how to stay in their own line but also are very hypocritical. I cannot fathom even being in her shoes during the entire process of carrying a human inside of her for nine months.

I am not one who follows the Kardashian’s religiously because, in all honesty, they are not that important. Don’t shoot me over that statement!

Although Kylie is my least favorite of the clan, I applaud her for being brave enough to embrace motherhood the way she has.

Many people our age wouldn’t even know how to react in that type of situation, most would run to the nearest drug store and grab a Plan B.

Some might argue that she has the money and resources to raise a child and to those of you that think that…you need to do some soul searching because she’s still young and more than likely wants to live her best life.

We may not all have the lifestyle Kylie Jenner is afforded, but in a way, we are all kind of teen moms. We are all scared of the unknown, feel alone at times, and most importantly just want to live our best life. Welp, that wraps up everything I kind of had to discuss. Until next time my faithful readers!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
