We as humans are tremendously flawed, yet God sent his son to save US. How crazy is it, that the same God who created the mountains and the oceans decided to sacrifice HIS SON, for the sake of sinners? His saving grace has given us endless chances for the greatest Love and redemption, day after day, even though we still are sinners. Each day is a new opportunity to grow, learn, and receive the same love we should emulate back into the world.
With this love comes great responsibility. How can we, as sinners, decide that our fellow man is unworthy? That is not for us to decide, which is why I’m the biggest believer in second chances. (Maybe even a third and a fourth, because who’s counting? God doesn’t count the chances he gives us). Think about how many times you have made mistakes, whether it be the same one over and over again, or just a plethora of regretful decisions. Does God love you any less? Absolutely not.
We are called to love just as he loves us (John 13:34). If we are given endless grace, and endless opportunities to fix our mistakes and grow in this endless love, who are we to take that away from someone else? We are all constantly growing and evolving, so it is only unfair to assume that other people will never fail us. It is human nature to make mistakes, and it is simply a necessity to allow ourselves and others to grow from these mistakes.
If each day is a new opportunity to grow, each moment is a new opportunity to love and emulate the love of our always forgiving Lord. We cannot call ourselves Christians if we withhold forgiveness and love from those who have wronged us. Therefore, we must learn to pray for those who persecute us, and love one another as we are loved by Jesus. Each second chance opens a new door for love, forgiveness, and further living as we are called to.
Regardless of the situation, we are all equal as sinners. We were shown the greatest love when love came down for us, and we are called to love just like that. No mistake is too great that love cannot fill the void and improve the situation. All we are called to do is love one another and live a life we are proud to call our own. Nothing more, and nothing less- so give second chances, third chances, as many as you need to and keep sharing the same love and forgiveness we are granted every single day.
