That line going out the door at Kimmel on the first day of classes is thankfully, at this point, a thing of the past.

By now, the crowds have died down a little as people start to get settled into the new semester. After all, with so many tasty non-NYU options available right on the Square, we're spoiled for choice. With Chipotle on Eighth Street, By Chloe's on Fourth, a wide selection of food trucks right outside of Stern and Bobst, we can't really blame you for wanting to get something else. But how about those of us who want or have to use up our meal plans?

Here are four finds that accept meal swipes and Dining Dollars.

Dunkin Donuts

Ever a popular breakfast spot, a single meal swipe at the Dunkin Donuts at U-Hall will give you a choice between two donuts or a sandwich, a small or medium-sized drink, and a side of hash browns (if you do so ask). You could always just opt to use your Dining Dollars or Campus Cash, of course.

The line at Dunkins can get really long in the mornings, so be sure to order in advance on Tapingo.

Palladium

Of course you've heard of the ever celebrated extravaganza that is Palladium Brunch. But did you know about Restaurant Night? It's an event held at Palladium once a month or so where they serve you a three-course dinner for two meal swipes, restaurant-style. You get a choice between seating at 6.30pm or 8pm. These tend to run out fast, so book quickly.

Palladium is also the only NYU Dining location where you could use your meal swipes for bubble tea or sushi. It's quite possibly one of the easiest ways to use up your meal swipes by the end of the semester, since they don't carry over to the spring semester the way your Dining Dollars do.

C-Stores

You're at the laundry room loading your clothes into the machine when you realize that you have only one tide pod left. What are you going to do?

Run over to the closest C-Store, that's what. Why spend actual money at Walgreen's when you can use your Dining Dollars at Sidestein? (Besides, the cashiers at the C-Stores are generally more friendly anyways.)

If you need to get something from CVS, chances are good one of the C-Stores carry it too. From command hooks to Naked juice, the C-Stores have almost anything you might need. It might just save you a trip to Staples if you suddenly lose your favorite notebook.

If you ever run into me at one of the C-Stores, I'm most likely trying to decide if I want a Snapple or a Vitamin Water, or loading a ton of microwaveable mac n cheese into my basket, or just staring at the ice-cream. It's also where I like to stock up on Red Bull and Awake bars in preparation for finals.

Burger Studio

Located right below the University Learning Center, at the basement of U-Hall, you can find NYU's very own build-your-own-burger studio. You place an order through one of the touch-screen machines, pick up your ticket, and wait for your number to be called.

I go to Burger Studio when I have that craving for curly fries. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with Kimmel. It's just that they almost-always happen to run out of curly fries right when I want some. So I hit up Burger Studio where I can always count on getting them. Add a milkshake to that, and my day was just made.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
