5 Things I'm Thankful For This Year

I appreciate everything in my life 365 days a year, but Thanksgiving makes me appreciate everything even more. What's better than eating a lot and spending the day with the people you love?

Thanksgiving is hands down one of my favorite holidays, besides Christmas. Around Thanksgiving, it can get stressful, especially for college students. I think it's important especially during the holiday season to reflect on everything you're thankful for.

I took a break studying for finals and really reflected. I have so many amazing things to be thankful for this season. So, I created a list of just a few things I'm thankful for this season. Life can get pretty hectic, so it's nice to just take a break and express gratitude.

1. My family

The number one thing I'm thankful for is my family. I have a big family and I appreciate all of them. My family is always there to support me in whatever I do. There is no doubt that I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. I am so grateful for the amazing life and opportunities they've given me.

2. My friends

Okay, so I might be biased, but I believe I have the best friends in the world. I have made amazing memories with my friends that I will cherish forever. My group is small, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

All of us are at different colleges and doing our own thing, but when we see each other during breaks, it's like we never missed a beat. I couldn't ask for a better group of people. I wish every one of them so much success and happiness.

3. My siblings

Yeah, we might fight a lot, but underneath all our fights, there's love. Siblings are like built-in best friends, annoying best friends, but friends. Regardless, we always have each others' backs, no matter what. I can honestly say there is never a dull moment when we're together.

4. My animals

I am a huge pet person, I have one dog and two cats. I absolutely adore my pets at home. I am always so excited to go home because I know they will be there to greet me at the door. They put the biggest smile on my face and they are the best cuddle buddies.

5. My health

Another big thing I'm thankful for is my health. I am so thankful I get to wake up today and do what I love. This year, especially, I am extremely thankful.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of the month, I was hit by a car at school. I do have some injuries, but I survived and I am doing well. That's all I can ask for. Besides me, my friends and family are healthy, and I thank God every day for that.

These were just a few things I'm thankful for this year. I recommend taking a break out of your hectic schedule and writing down all the things you're grateful for this year. It really is so amazing to be reminded of it all because, sadly, we can forget sometimes.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
