15 Things All Seasonal Allergy Suffers Want You To Know

Spring = Death. Well at least for those that suffer with seasonal allergies. It's a really hard time and we struggle through it every year. Oftentimes those that don't suffer make the same frequent comments or ask the same questions. Us allergy suffers want you to know these things before you ask us the same old questions and make the same old comments.

1. The sight of blooming trees make us want to sneeze.

2. We are jealous of those that can sit outside all day.

3. We sit outside for an hour and we start sneezing.

4. We sit in the grass and immediately start to feel itchy.

5. Really participating in any outdoor activity is a bad idea.

7. We ALWAYS have to shower after being outside.

8. Rain is a double-edged sword.

We want it to rain to wash away the pollen, but the rain makes plants pollinate more. It really is a double-edged sword.

10. We go through boxes and boxes of tissues.

11. We just want to sleep all the time.

We have to take benadryl in the mornings a lot which leaves us feeling drowsy throughout the day. Also, we just want to sleep because it's better than staying awake and suffering.

12. We can't focus.

Try getting schoolwork done while you have to blow your nose every 30 seconds. Also it's hard to focus when your eyes are non-stop itching and burning.

13. People constantly ask us if we are sick.

For the THOUSANDTH time, no. I have allergies and am not contagious.

14. People constantly ask us if we are high.

Again, we are not high. We can't help that allergies make our eyes red and dry.

15. We just can't do much about it and have to struggle through spring.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
