It's no big secret that the world we live in today is much harsher than the one that many adults grew up in. It's true. Life is hard. Life has always carried its own challenges, but lately the pressures of them seem to be slamming on citizens much worse than ever before. While I have no idea why that is, I do know that every person has their own struggles, and we should not be afraid to admit and face them together.
In any natural setting, it is proven that creatures adapt to their environment in order to survive. Animals have been doing that with their physical traits since the dawn of time. I believe the same thing applies to human beings as well. After all, we wear thicker clothes when it snows, and we never hesitate to bring out shorts and tank tops when the sun is beaming brightly outside. However, people seem to not only want to grow tougher skin as the world spins out of control, but we seem to want to have tougher frames of mind as well.
There is a familiar phrase tossed around that people have to stand on their own two feet. Well of course they do. No one else can walk, talk, eat, sleep, or breathe for anyone else. Although the same does not apply in any way when it comes to a person's mentality. It has also been declared that humans are more advanced due to their surreal, complex emotions. With that in mind, it is flabbergasting to think that emotions should be treated as nonchalant as a simple paper cut.
Now there are some folks who truly want to share their emotions with the world, no matter what they might be feeling. They wish to seek help or help others with their problems. It is that type of people who are mocked and ridiculed by the kind who think talking about feelings and problems is a useless waste of time. It tends to be that kind who have their inner torment bottled up until one day they simply explode in whatever shape or form that said explosion takes.
For anyone out there who is struggling and resisting the idea of admitting what is really on their mind, please know you are not alone. Sometimes, it can feel like we are the only person in the whole entire world struggling with something. However, that is not the case; everyone carries their own burdens and heartaches. I implore you to reach out if and when you can. Standing on your own is perfectly fine, but sadly, no one on this good earth is capable of reading minds.
I would again like to repeat that no one living is alone, no matter how much it may seem like it. The truth of the matter is we feel much better being alone with someone else who understands, rather than being alone by ourselves. In the end, we should remember that we may struggle alone at times, but we are always struggling together.
