Thanks to college, my relationship with my mom has blossomed. She's become the best friend I can always rely on and didn't know I had all along. There isn't a normal day that I don't talk to her at least once. Even though most of our conversations are relatively meaningless, my days wouldn't be complete without them. Here are some of the bits and pieces that contribute to our talks.
1. I need a medication refill.
2. I heard some good gossip.
3. She heard some good gossip.
4. I'm walking to class.
5. I'm walking back from class.
6. She's driving home from work.
7. I don't know what to have for dinner.
8. I want home cooked food but don't have the recipes.
9. Friend problems.
10. Boy problems.
11. Because even though it's only been 12-24 hours, it feels like a good month.
12. A light turns on in my car that shouldn't be.
13. My billing statement came through for school.
14. I'm filling out a form and have no idea how to answer a question.
15. I need her birthday or my dad's birthday for a form.
16. To ask what medicine to take for whatever problem I'm having.
17. To complain about how busy I am.
18. She worked more than 2 days this week so she needed someone to complain to.
19. I forgot to tell her something when we talked earlier.
20. I thought of a story that I didn't think of earlier.
21. She has a good story from work.
22. I want something from home.
23. I need some extra cash.
24. I'm avoiding homework or errands I need to take care of.
25. Because I miss being home just a little so talking to her makes it a little easier.
These are the reasons I call my mom, what are yours?
