All Hearts Are Buckeye Hearts Today

This morning, another unthinkable attack occurred. This time a suspect ran into a crowd of people with his vehicle and then proceeded to get out and stab people with a butcher knife. I am not the news and I do not have all of the information. What I do have, is a heart.

I cannot begin to express my sorrow for all those victims and their loved ones involved in today. I cannot begin to imagine what it was like to be a student or faculty member in class suddenly being told to “Run Hide Fight” because there was a suspect on the loose thought at the time to be an active shooter. The paralyzing fear that was felt throughout the Ohio State University campus is one that I would never wish upon my worst enemy. The stress and anxiety their family members and loved ones must have been going through watching the news and waiting for that “I’m safe.” phone call or text would have destroyed me. As it is, I walked around in a fog near tears all morning having known no one involved. Furthermore, I cannot imagine what horrific pain and fear the victims were and still are experiencing.

Innocent people trying to get and/or give an education, hurt for only God knows what reason. It is sickening. I am deeply sorry that you had to experience this and whatever comes in the aftermath. I am sorry that a person could have such a disregard for human life that they could ever do such a thing. I am sorry that what happened to you all today, was because of that. I am sorry. I am sorry.

I want you all to know that the world is behind you in support. We are there for you and whatever you may need from us at this time. All hearts are Buckeye hearts today.

Now more than ever, we need to come together as a human race and begin acting and treating one another with love and compassion. We need to leave hatred and any differences we have behind and simply remember that we are all human and teach each other to love again. Or perhaps we need to teach each other to love period, maybe we never fully learned that. If you are a religious person, now is the time to pray to your God or spirits above and ask for love and peace.

Let us not wait until another atrocity happens before we spring into prayer and action. Let us act now. Now is the time.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
