Throughout the day sometimes it can become hard to find time to write. As I started thinking about this article, i was interrupted by 2 emails 1 phone call and several social media updates. It made me realize that many people have a hard time just finding a moment for themselves. It’s important to have time to yourself, even if it is for nothing but self-reflection. We spend and set aside time for work, doctors, family, volunteering and so on and so forth; but we should not get so busy that we forget to think about ourselves. What you do with that time you carve out of the day for yourself is totally up to you. I have found a way that works for me to unplug from the world and take time for myself.

So, what is it? Airplane Mode. Every phone has the ability to do it. You will find it somewhere in your connection setting or network setting. Placing your device in airplane mode simply disconnects your phone from the cellular network and on most devices, it also turns off your WiFi ability. That is important. Because once you decide what hour of the day will become your Me Time, you want to be able to block out all distractions.

Now, don’t be afraid every missed text, voicemail, email or social media notification will be waiting for you. The moment you exit airplane mode your cellular service will resume as well as your Wi-Fi connection. But while you have the time to yourself use it to do whatever you like. You will be surprised how much you can accomplish in 60 uninterrupted minutes. If you have nothing to do then simply enjoy the peace and tranquility because it can also help to enhance your life.

20 Reasons Why You Need Inner Peace and Tranquility

Using Airplane mode has allowed me to write 2-3 thousand words in a project that I am working on or finish dialog on a new chapter. Sometimes I use the time to put together a story outline so that I may know how to use my time best in the coming days.

Sometimes, the hard part is finding an hour to actually claim for yourself. But if you can separate yourself from a television show that could be your one hour. Another idea is to go to bed one hour earlier, this will give you one extra hour in the morning that you can now have to yourself. Studies have proven that the brain functions best first thing in the morning. I'm sure if you thought about it hard enough you can find something in your day that's not all that productive and shift it for the sake of you.

So, if you are having a tough time finding time in your day, then create the time and make yourself a priority. Activate airplane mode on your device, get rid of all distraction and reclaim your Me Time.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
