Ah, Coming Home

It's good coming home once in awhile.

Ah, Spring Break. You are probably on day four or five of it. Some of us are going on exciting trips to Mexico or somewhere else. Good for you, I hope you have a great time. For anyone who is like me, you are heading home and sleeping (that is what i have been doing). Home is a great place, really it is! I love my parents, my house and bedroom. I don't miss the people yelling or the people running around upstairs back in the dorms. But as much fun as being home is, I get bored so easily. I am sure there are people out there that are just like me, they get bored going back home. I don't know about you guys but my town is tiny, like really tiny. During the winter, fall and spring there is nothing really to do. Summer is when you want to be around my town and even then summer isn't this huge thing for the people living here. It is just more people that are here walking and going out on the lake. So yes, I get very bored coming home. I find it also weird to go from not having to tell anybody what you are doing and where you are going. At school I don't have to answer to my parents. I mean sure they know where I am for the most part. Being at home at least for me mean I have to keep them updated where I am. I know it's a small thing and maybe some of you don't need to do that but I do. It is weird going from not having to tell your parents anything to having tell them where you are, and when are you coming home. Also chores, I understand that they are part the house and I live in the house. I totally get that. it is just odd coming from school where nobody is telling you to sweep the floor or clean the dishes or clean your room to coming home and someone telling you to do all those things. Now don't get me wrong coming home has it upsides like talking to mom and dad about thing that happened at school, venting to mom about how this class is awful and telling stories about crazy stuff you and your friends have done. Sleeping in your own bed that is a plus, well unless your mattress back at school is more comfortable than the one you have at home then I'm sorry for your lost. Just showering in your own shower is a relief. It requires no shower shoes or taking your shower caddie in and out; everything is already there and it is a blessing. Also the washer and dyer are free! What could get better then that?! Really though whether you like going home or you don't; home is a good place to end up.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
