Summer Going Into Freshman Year:

Two eager incoming Aggies sign up for Fish Camp and both unknowingly select session A. They are strangers at this point, anyways. A month or so later, they are each checking in at Reed Arena wondering why they ever signed up for this craziness in the first place. When the boy, named Kyle, gets assigned his color, he takes a look around. That’s when he saw Emily for the first time.

He introduces himself later during a mixer, but things are just so awkward. He is not thinking his chances are good. What are the odds he will see her again anyways at a university this big???

Very. Very. High.

2 weeks later Kyle finds himself at Impact Camp. After having conquered Fish Camp, this seems like a walk in the park. He finds himself introducing himself to more people, some of which he could see himself being friends with down the road. They are also looking into different Men’s Organizations and Fraternities.

Kyle is hanging out with his new buddies when he sees a familiar face. He is thinking that there is no way it’s the same cute girl he met at Fish Camp. As fate would have it, Emily is in the same Impact session. Kyle knows this means he just got a second chance. If anything, they are going to be friends.

And by the end of Impact, they were. They had introduced each other to the friends that they had made and became a sort of clique that would end up running in the same circles for the next 4 years.

Freshman Year:

Kyle got Emily’s number before leaving camp. He has been texting her occasionally so she doesn’t forget him before school starts. It is near IMPOSSIBLE though to make plans with her while she is going through sorority recruitment. If he was not busy applying for FLOs and Men’s Organizations, he would have gone crazy by now.

Emily is having the time of her life making friendships that she knows will last forever. She found her "home" during rush and life has been a whirlwind since then. She made a friend named Kyle at Impact, and he has been so supportive through everything. If only all her friends were as genuine and caring as Kyle!

She decides to take Kyle to her first ever date party. He ends up knowing a lot of boys there that were in his FLO. They had a great time, and date party led to many lunches together in Sbisa. Emily still thinks she has made a great friend.

Over Christmas break, Kyle FaceTimes Emily periodically to see how she is doing and what she is up to. If he went a while without reaching out, Emily found herself beginning to miss him. MISS KYLE??? What is she thinking? He is one of her best friends!

When they return from Christmas break, Emily has developed a huge crush on Kyle and does not know what she is gonna do now. Luckily, Kyle had made up his mind that he was going to ask her on a date when they got back.

They became official sometime in March. Just in time to take each other to their formals in April. The first of four. They begin summer wondering how tough things are going to be considering they are both working at different summer camps and different Impact sessions. The plan is that in summer 2 they will make sure to visit each other, though.

Sophomore Year:

Kyle and Emily successfully made it through their summer apart with occasional hometown visits. They feel a lot better going into sophomore year since they have the hang of things in Aggieland now. So they thought…

Sophomore year ends up being a roller coaster. Emily has a lot of drama with girls and finds her friend group changing slowly, but surely. The more she got to know some people the less she wanted to be close to them. Finding the perfect house in the Historic district is also proving to be a bigger challenge than she expected. She also has not seen much of Kyle lately since he went out for a Men’s Org and got an invitation to join or whatever.

Kyle is thinking things are going great. Some boys from his FLO also got in his Men’s Org and it has kept him so busy. Emily has kind of been in the back of his mind. He’s met so many girls at all these mixers. He still loves Emily, but he periodically questions what it would be like to be single right now?

Fast forward to the end of second semester. Things have been rocky between Kyle and Emily… They mutually decide not to call it quits, but just to take a break. They both could use some time to self-reflect and grow independently in their faith.

Junior Year:

Emily spent the summer studying abroad traveling to different countries all over Europe with her best gal pals, while Kyle was doing an internship for one of the “Big 4” accounting firms. He is hoping this will help his chances of getting into PPA!

When they return to College Station, things just feel right again. The break was very good for their relationship, and they appreciate their time together so much more now. This year they really grow deep in their relationship and start to picture their future together. Kyle comes home with Emily a few weekends throughout the year to get to better know her family, and vice versa.

This year they become a couple that everyone knows of whether you know them or not. Emily’s Instagram is creeped on repeatedly by all the new members of her sorority, and even her friends are a tiny bit envious of the happiness she has found with Kyle.

Senior Year:

Kyle and Emily talk about their life together very often as the future seems so close. Their “last” everything together as A&M students is happening so quickly!

On ring day in the fall, Emily takes countless photos with her Aggie ring and many jokes are made that she will, what is it they say? Have another “Ring by Spring?” Kyle sits back and observes with a soft smile that confirms exactly what everyone is thinking. He had plans to ask her parents alone that evening for their blessing to propose to their daughter.

One beautiful spring day, Emily has booked a photographer friend of hers to take her senior pictures on campus. She asks Kyle to accompany her, of course. Little does she know that he has already made arrangements with the photographer… Today is the day that she might become Kyle’s fiance.

Emily is strolling down military walk with a big smile on her face for the camera when Kyle points at the Century Tree. He says, “You know we have not walked under that together before?” She replies with a “Well, why not today?” With the photographer following behind they walk hand in hand under the Century Tree. Kyle stops about mid way under and takes both of her hands in his. Emily looks at him with a questioning look in her eyes before Kyle begins telling her how much he loves her. At this point, Emily realizes what is happening and a soft stream of tears flow from her eyes. Kyle gets down on one knee, addresses her by her full name, and asks her to be walk forever with him as his wife.

When Emily says yes, a cheer goes up and at this moment Emily sees all of her closest friends and family waiting to congratulate them in the Academic plaza! She looks back at Kyle and kisses her now fiance.

The following Monday night, Emily has a chapter meeting for her sorority. This one is a bit more special than usual, though. Emily is doing a ring pass, something she had thought about with so many questions since her first semester as a freshman. Now, she had all the answers as the girls gathered in a circle and passed around Emily’s engagement ring as she told them her and Kyle’s love story.

Wedding Day:

The date was set for the middle of June the following year.

By then, Kyle had graduated from the PPA program and Emily landed a job at a PR firm proving her BA in communication was not just a Mrs. Degree. The groom’s cake was a replica of Kyle Field, and the wedding party was made up of childhood friends and best friends from their organizations at A&M, including a few they met at Impact so long ago!

The reception concludes after the Aggie War Hymn plays and the wedding guests wave their personalized keepsake 12th man towels as the couple runs to their waiting vehicle.

Their favorite wedding gift was Aggie Football season tickets, and they planned on kissing when the Aggies score for years to come.

The End.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
