IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN! Designers are coming out with their new planners, and it is time to decide which to use this year. This is always a big decision, because some planners can reach up to $70, and you have a lot of shit to get done this year. People will see your planner all school year and consequently judge you on it all year. This is a bigger decision than your formal dress.
Clicking on any of the images of agendas will bring you to where you can buy it.
1. Lilly Agenda
The obvious first choice of any basic. This screams “I'M NEW TO THIS WHOLE THING BUT LOOK ISN'T IT SO PRETTY.” Bonus points if you got the Large. This really is basic on all sides. It has some list pages you won't use in the beginning. Following are the month pages. Then each month is tabbed with its month calendar preceding it. There is plenty of space in the Large, but sometimes the Medium gets a little squished--especially with all those mixers you have going on this semester. With this, you honestly get quite a bang for your buck as far as “designer planners” go. Although these agendas used to go a school year and a half, they now go according to calendar year, which is probably for the best.
2. Vera Bradley
This is really just the Lilly Agenda and seemingly more practical or something, but is actually less and more expensive than the Lilly. I wouldn't recommend. The frumpier girls will have this probably.
3. Kate Spade
These are the girls that had the Vera Bradley last year and saw the errors of their ways. These girls probably have their shit together, and they know what is going on in their lives. The hard covers and protected binding is definitely a plus. The girl who has a Spade agenda probably also has a small pencil case to hold her colored pens.
4. Day Designer
This girl definitely uses her agenda everyday. If you're (Read: If your father is) gonna shell out $70+ then you are going to use it. You must have a good tote bag to carry around this baby, because each day is broken down by the half hour. It also comes with each day’s “inspiration” or whatever. The website provides free printables to spice up your agenda, and you can purchase accessories for it as well. I am sure you can even purchase an insert that will fit your daily addy as well.
5. Day Designer for Target
Honestly the better choice. It really is the same agenda, but half the cost. This is for the Type A girl on a budget. Not cutting off a limb for an agenda means she can splurge on pens, though.
6. Erin Condren
The woman. The myth. The Legend. This is the Holy Grail of agendas. Planning is this woman's religion. Give a woman an Erin Coldren, and she will want to buy stickers. Give a woman customizable stickers, and she will want to vlog her weekly planning. Give a woman a vlog about her planner, and she will have to buy more customizable stickers about her vlog. EC planners set up each week and have the days split up into three times. There is also a bottom section for each week to record what you want.
7. Staples brand
Sometimes, this is the least expensive, and sometimes it isn’t. These usually come with anything the Lilly or Vera will come with. These come from completely basic to pretty freaking nice. These girls are here to plan, and that’s what they will do. No frills needed. They also know that they will probably lock this up in their desk for at least a month each semester and ignore most responsibility.
8. Only the Month calendar
This is it. This girl has her shit together. She doesn't want clutter or nonsense. F*ck a to-do list and daily inspo. This HBIC doesn't need that bullshit. Or she is denying that she has three different exams on one day and is only putting down the mixer that night. Same difference.
