Freshman year can be an emotional rollercoaster, so here are some little tips that I've learned for incoming freshmen who are about to experience the ride of their lives.

1. Learn to manage your time.

You can do everything, but you need to learn to manage your time wisely. That doesn't mean you can't ever go out with your friends and have fun, but if you know you have a huge exam coming up Monday morning then maybe you shouldn't go out Sunday night.

2. Get as involved as possible.

Join as many clubs as you can and get involved! It's important to try things that peak your interest and see what you like to do. Not only will you meet a lot of interesting people, but you'll learn more about yourself.

3. Chose your friends wisely.

Yes, it's fun to have those wild and crazy friends, but you need to make sure they have your best interest at heart. The friends you make in college are the ones that are here to stay, so you have to make sure you're choosing the people that are fun to be around but also care about you.

4. This Isn't high school.

Things are different when you enter college I promise. You don't have to worry about dressing to impress for classes and all the mean girls because no one really cares that much.

That being said, don't come in with that mentality from high school. Let it go. We are all adults here now so don't laugh at others, be mean, or judge others for anything. Be open-minded and kind to everyone.

5. Don't limit your friend group.

My freshman year was great, but at first, I was closing myself off to just one group of friends and it ended up not being the best decision. You have to open yourself up to others and not just stay in one friend group. In college, you will meet so many diverse and interesting people if you are friendly and open to it.

6. Dating freshman year? Don't do it.

OK, I can already feel the hate I'm going to get for this but your freshman year should be your experimental year. You need to figure out who you are, what you like, who you like, etc.

Why would you want to be tied down to one person your first year of college when you have the other three years to worry about that?

7. Have fun, and enjoy it!

Freshman year can be stressful and confusing but it's also the year where you figure out who you are. It's your first year really learning to adult and while it can be stressful it can also be really fun.

Freshman, just let college change you for the better and be open to new friendships and adventures.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
