If you know me, you'll know that my Fitbit is my favorite accessory, favorite gadget, favorite everything. I wear it so often that it feels like a necessity in my life.

If I don't have it on, I feel like something is off and I am wasting my energy walking around because if my Fitbit doesn't count the steps then what is the point?!? I've lost it a few times and after unsuccessfully looking for it, went out and immediately bought a new one because I felt lost without it.

While this obsession may seem weird, I swear it isn't. Here are seven reasons why I can't live without my Fitbit, and if you're a Fitbit wearer too, you'll understand this love.

1. It counts my steps.

It's most basic function, but it is actually the best. I just checked my Fitbit app and saw that I had almost 15,000 steps yesterday and suddenly I feel super active and not so guilty about skipping the gym (again).

2. It tracks my sleep.

While I know I only slept five hours and I feel like I only slept five hours, it is great to have something that reminds me of it! Plus, it always feels great when you finally break eight hours of sleep and it gives you a star for hitting your goal!

3. It cheers me on.

When you hit all your goals, the screen goes crazy to congratulate you on a job well done! It is the little things in life that make it great after all.

4. It looks great in photos.

While this isn't its real purpose, it is a cute little accessory to have on that doesn't totally ruin an outfit. If you're like me and have it on 24/7, you can play a little game called "Can I spot my Fitbit in this photo?" with your Instagram account and see how many times it pops up! The number may shock you.

5. It counts the calories I burned.

This feature always makes me feel way better about myself than it should. Like yes, look at me! I burned over 2,000 calories today, I can totally have dessert and not feel guilty now!

6. It vibrates when I get calls or texts.

I will never miss another call from my mom again because my Fitbit will vibrate when I get a call or text. While before, I would miss calls since my phone was on silent, but now I am notified right away when someone is trying to reach me in a sly manner.

7. It has "silent" alarms.

Going along with the calls and texts, you can set silent alarms on your Fitbit to quietly wake you up in the morning is a much less obnoxious way than the iPhone defeat alarm noise. It is great for my soul and also for my roommate who doesn't need to get up for a few more hours.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
