If most of you are like me, you're starting to get bored sitting around the house. I don't want to keep that up all summer so here are some ideas as to what you can do with your time off from school.
1. Go to an adventure park with your friends.
Not just an amusement park, an adventure park.
2. Write a ten-page story.
It can be crap and poorly written, but it’s only yours to cherish and read indefinitely.
3. Watch the sunset over the ocean.
Or a lake. Or a pond. Or a puddle, for you landlocked losers.
4. Go a day without using your phone.
A whole day..... I know how impossible (and scary) that might sound.
5. Spend a day in a new city!
A new part of your state or a different one, go urban exploring.
6. Go to as many concerts as possible.
My count this summer is four, can you beat that?
7. Go to a drive-In movie.
It doesn’t matter who you go with, it’s always fun and makes you feel you're in Grease (the movie).
8. Go to a Mini Golf/Bumper Boats/Arcade/Driving Range/Ice Cream Place.
It’s called Kimball’s around me but I’m sure other places have similar themes. We all know em'.
9. Learn a new instrument.
The piano is simple (trust me), the ukulele is easy (I’ll let you know), and the saxophone looks cool as f**k
10. Take a road trip with friends.
A short day trip to the White Mountains, or a long cross-country trek, anywhere that your imagination can take you.
11. Spend at least one day with your grandparent(s).
Even if it’s just playing crazy 8’s all day, trust me they will love spending time with you. (and you will enjoy the company more than you may think)
12. Do something good for your body that you can carry over to college.
Run once a week or drink more water, just start being healthy. Remember, even a single step in the right direction counts.
13. Write At least once every day.
Whatever may be on your mind, just write. It will make you feel better after.
