Adults and their Kid Ways

When you really think about it though, did we ever really lose our inner kid when we signed up for adulthood?

Who said that when you become an adult you can't still be a kid? Who said that the kid inside us has to die out? Growing up is tough. Being an adult can be extremely stressful with your job, your bills, and any other stressors in your life or stressors occurring at the moment. Even being a college student and wondering if you're going into the right major or that you've chosen the right career choice is so nerve-racking. So haven't you ever wished that you could just go back to being a little kid again when there was never a worry? When all you had to think about was what type of topping you wanted on your ice cream or which toy you were gonna bring to school? C'mon I know you've thought about it. We've all wished we could go back in time. When you really think about it though, did we ever really lose our inner kid when we signed up for adulthood? There are still so many things we still do that we did when we were younger. Here are just five things that we still enjoy or still do now as grown-ups:

1. Birthdays

I don't know about you, but I know that I still secretly get super excited for my birthday. I mean how can you not? It's literally a day to celebrate you. A day of receiving cards and gifts and enjoying time with people close to you where they put all the attention on you.

2. Holidays

Personally, Halloween and Christmas are my absolute favorites. Christmas is just that holiday that even to this day brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. Then you have Halloween which is that perfect day where you could wear just about the wackiest outfit and not feel totally ridiculous, which brings me to number 3.

3. Dressing Up

Now this one might not apply for everyone but I know that as a kid, I used to love dressing up as one of my favorite Disney princesses, or putting on those little plastic sandals and hanging that tiny pink purse on my shoulders and walking around the house like a little adult, but I still dress up now. Whether its going to some fancy event and putting on that dress that probably took going to 20 different stores to find or, just choosing that one day during the week to walk out of the house in style.

4. Ice Cream

I think some, if not most people, can agree with me when I say that dessert and sweets in general are one of my weaknesses, especially ice cream. When my family and I walk out of that ice cream shop, we all feel like big kids. Ice cream is just one of those things where if you love it as a kid, you love it as an adult. At least I know I do anyway.

5. Animals

Now I know some of you may not be animal lovers but, you have to admit that seeing a puppy or kitten makes you wanna melt on the inside from adorableness. Growing up I never had a pet, but I know that I always wanted to have a dog. I remember passing by that little pet shop they had in the mall and begging my parents for a puppy. And you know what? To this day whenever I go to the mall, I always make sure that I visit the puppies because it's just so tempting and they're just too cute. And I see the way most adults are with their pets. I see that being with those pets can still bring out the inner kid in you.

Now there are probably a few more items that can be added to this list but these were just a few things that came to my mind. And maybe not everything that was listed applies to you but there has to be at least one thing that when you read it you said to yourself, "Oh my gosh, yes! That's me!" And then maybe you didn't say that at all but, I still enjoyed writing this for you guys as it was my first article and I'm so excited to share some more of my thoughts and ideas. Until next time...

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
