I Adopted A Cat And It Was The Best Decision I Have Ever Made

Yes, a boring but awesome story about my first pet adoption, but hopefully this inspires you to adopt!

I moved out on my own to a whole new state in September 2018. I still have trouble adjusting and making new friends. Even though I am slowly getting adjusted, my new apartment just did not feel right. I always thought that pets were whatever, but people recommended to adopt a pet to feel less lonely.

I did not think a pet would help that much but adopting my first ever pet was awesome! I adopted a cat simply because my apartment complex only lets you have cats. I really wanted a dog but I thought I could give cats a try, and I am happy I did! I went to Petco and they had three cats up for adoption through a company called Spay and Save. They partner with other companies to protect animals and keep them sheltered until adoption occurs! I wanted to take home all of the cats but could only take one for now as that is all I could handle and afford.

I chose to adopt Mac (his name is so cute!) because he was friendly right away and he has beautiful eyes! I am so happy I picked him because he has been an amazing cat.

I have had him for about two months now and I am learning so much about being a pet owner. They can get expensive but they are so worth it. Always make sure to get the food they enjoy and have the best cleaning supplies for when they have those sick days!

Mac loves to snuggle; he really does. He likes to go under the covers when I sleep and sleep right on my side. He does have a habit of waking me up and sitting on me to eat; he even licks me or nips at me!

The moral of the story is adopting a pet really helped me not only with my loneliness but I was able to give him a better home. I love him so much and I can tell he is happy.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
