First of all, if you have a pet, Congratulations. I am personally beyond happy for you and am truly glad that you have a furry creature to live and enjoy life with. On the other hand, if you do not have a pet, go adopt one right this instance.
You can all the money in the world. Ten cars. Two houses. Anything. But, it will never compare to the feeling when you first adopt a beautiful pet, a home companion, a new best friend and your new favorite roommate.
Now when you walk through your front door, you're have this little cat or excited dog running towards you and saying hi back. When it's time to leave your house, you'll have to scream out "bye!!!" to your pet, just to let them know you'll be back.
When you're upset, you'll have a dog wanting to play and cheer you up or a kitten that wants to cuddle and jump on you until you smile and laugh again.
When you go on vacation, you'll have not just a pet, but a friend waiting for you to come home. And no matter how long you are gone or how short the grocery trip was, they are always excited to see you again.
If you find yourself randomly talking to yourself at any point, you can simply turn to your wonderful puppy or cat, and pretend you were speaking to them. I'm not sure which one is crazier, but I do know that life is always better with a pet around.
A year and a half ago, I went to the animal shelter and left with a black cat. When I walked into the shelter, I saw this cat who just stared at me and meowed extremely loud. I would try to pet her or pick her up, and she'd run away and hide from me, still peaking from around the corner. So I'd walk away. I figured I could see what other cats were here. And then she started screaming again. This continued about five more times before I knew this cat had to be mine. Her name? Sassy Pants.
