July is soon coming to a close and a lot of times I stop to think about how crazy it is that the year is almost over. I ask my self where did all the time go? With Florida in the midst of the pandemic it's a strange feeling how time seems to go by slow but also fast at the same time. It almost feels as if the pandemic started last month but when it's put into perspective I realize that it has been almost five months already. Unfortunately or fortunatley, before we know it we will be ringing in the new year and hopefully we will be able to leave COVID-19 in the past.

With everything going on things have changed in our day to day routines. At first these changes seemed so strange and distinct but slowly but surely this has started to become a new normal. Before when we would see people we'd maybe smile and wave but now we are trained to make sure we don't come into close proximities with each other. Before the pandemic doing something like that would be considered rude but it has become something we are expected to do now. Before, if you had a slight feeling of having a cough you might have tried to tough it out and continue with your day to day activities but now you are expected to be responsible and stay home until you are no longer feeling symptoms.

These are just a couple things that have changed from the past several months. Reflecting on the months that have gone by it made me really cherish the moments where we didn't have to worry about the virus. It is crazy that so much has changed in less than a year. All we can hope for is that people comply with the safety regulations, while doing their own part so that things can go back to 'normal', or whatever that will be now. In the meantime, make sure you wear your cutest mask when you go out!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
